A Full Heart
Hello!
This weekend was truly a blessing. I witnessed a remarkable wedding up at camp, congratulations Breanna and Tyler, with some people who truly help Kentucky feel like home. I knew I would truly enjoy being with everyone again but I didn't realize how much they became a part of my heart. I don't decide to let many people in and get close to know me personally, this is something I've learned to do as I get older. Yet, the people I let in and get closer with, build deep, meaningful friendships with, they all make up a piece of my heart. Maggie, one of my best camp friends, made a post today and the caption read "Home is not the place, its the people" and it hit me how true this really is. Home is about the people you are with. Homes are made all over the world, people up and leave their houses all the time. Yet their home may never change with the personnel that they surround themselves with. I was ecstatic when we all got to perform the line dance we learned this summer, its to the song fireball, and we all get into it, have fun and I couldn't have felt more in the right place than with them. These friends are more than just your average friends. They are my family. I would do anything for Dani, Maggie, Brooke, Jacob, Katie, Matt, Savannah and so many more of my camp family that wasn't there. There is something about bringing us back together that you would never know we all live so far apart and haven't been together in a few months. Saying our farewells today was so hard, I could physically feel a piece of me leaving and it really sucks. Yet, seeing them gives me motivation, it gives me hope, it gives me the knowledge that I am always loved by so many people and that I never walk alone, and that no matter where I go, I will always have a home with my camp family!
With the wedding, seeing great people, dancing, catching up on each others lives, and carving pumpkins with my community, I feel refreshed and excited for what is coming up next. We are starting up with 2 new sessions at schools, so that'll be great to get a new start at a school we have been at and a new school too! So that is super exciting, and with such a heartfelt weekend, I know I can go into this with a full heart, ready to teach the students and to be fully present with everyone. Its funny how when you trust God to take things and make of them what they should be, he comes through every time. I think this weekend what exactly what was needed before the next sessions of curriculum we are going to enter. I think this was gods push for me, his way of saying "Your heart is full, now go fill the hearts of others." This is something I think we could all practice and we could all work on. My challenge this week is to fill the hearts of everyone I meet, allow my heart to be replenished by those I meet. We can not pour from an empty glass, and we can not fill others hearts while ours are empty. Spread joy, spread love, and fill hearts.
I also want send my prayers and condolences to those affected by the shooting at the Synagogue.
Thank you for trying on my CAP!!
Until next time, Peace, Love and Blessings!
